Summer of 2021 in Canada, Toronto:
It was great to go back home to see my family after the pandemic and to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family.  The summers in Toronto are very hot, I’m sure most people from Italy think we have cold and snow all year round.  Not true as our summers are hot 35 degrees and more sometimes.  It was great to be back to see everyone healthy and happy after the crazy time we all had with covid worldwide.
As the proverb says  ” absence makes the heart grow fonder” there was greater affection I noticed with friends and family.  This possible phrase was born out of a line of poetry by the ancient Roman poet Sextus Propertius.  In his Elegies, he wrote, “Always toward absent lovers, love’s tide stronger flows.” I believe this line was meant for all types of relationships, family, friends, lovers and even things.  This summer I truly appreciated everything I did and all whom I have seen and spent time with.  I was able to give my children this gift of “appreciation.” One must appreciate the  little things, be greatful, and be thankful for all that surrounds us and the people we have in our lives.

Estate in Canada, Toronto 2021
